Invoices may sometimes be issued with errors such as incorrect amounts, incorrect customer details, or incorrect line items. To maintain accuracy in financial records and ensure EMPs are billed correctly, we will provide a mechanism to revoke and correct invoices.
The goal is to develop a process to revoke invoices, change the address in case a correction is needed, and generate a new invoice in its place:
- Invoice revocation
- Invoice revocation with regeneration of the invoice copy
- Only invoices that are in posted status can be revoked.
- With the revocation process, details such as EMP contact details can also be edited and regenerated in a new draft invoice.
Difference Between Invoice Cancelation, Invoice Revocation, and Credit Note
Invoice Cancellation
- Only invoices that are still in draft status can be fully canceled.
- Link for the Process for Invoice cancellation: Invoice Generation
Invoice Revocation
- Only invoices that are in posted status can be revoked.
- With the revocation process, details such as EMP contact details can also be edited and regenerated in a new draft invoice.
Credit Note
-
Credit Notes can be generated for invoices in draft and posted (not paid).
-
Amount-related issues, such as incorrect amounts, crediting specific CDRs, handling refunds in a custom way, etc., can be managed via issuing a Credit Note for the POSTED and PAID invoices.
-
A future credit note for the next invoice cycle can also be planned when the current cycle invoice is in a DRAFT status.

-
Revoke the invoice and regenerate a copy
A - Invoice revocation only
With revoking a posted invoice, you can manually exclude CDRs from being invoiced after an invoice has been sent to the EMP. (The next step would be to change CDR statuses to “on hold”. See further in the CDR Overview.
- You keep the default revocation option at “Revoke invoice only.”
- Option to add a note for internal use.
- Press on “Revoke invoice”
- The Invoice’s status changes to “revoked”
- A confirmation of the revocation is sent to the EMP partner.
-
Revocation action is added to “action history” at the bottom of the invoice details tab.
B - Revoke an invoice and regenerate a copy
By revoking a posted invoice and regenerating a draft copy, you have the opportunity to fix the EMP’s contact details / administrative information by editing the details in the new draft invoice copy.
- Select “Revoke invoice and regenerate a copy” option
- Option to add a note for internal use.
- Press on “Revoke invoice”
- The system automatically regenerates a copy of the invoice. You will be redirected to the draft invoice copy view.
- You can edit contact details of EMP, or apply other actions that are available for draft invoices.
- Original Invoice’s status changes to “revoked”, and a confirmation is sent to the EMP partner.
- Revocation action is added to the “action history” at the bottom of the invoice details tab.
What happens when an invoice is revoked?
-
The revocation cannot be undone.
- The invoice will be legally canceled if you proceed with revocation.
-
A revocation copy will be sent to the EMP partner (to notify of the revocation).
Where to find the revoked invoice?
An overview of all revoked invoices can be found under My Invoices - Closed tab.
You can also edit the note (comment), view the revoked invoice as a PDF and export its data in a zip file from this view. Viewing the CDRs associated to the revoked invoice and the originally calculated payout shares is also possible from this view.
